Invoices
Every invoice with its status and balance, plus Outstanding and Overdue views. Open one to see its payments and history.
The invoice list shows every invoice with its status and total. It's the working view of your accounts receivable.
Status comes from the invoice itself (what was billed, what's been applied, and the due date), so nobody has to set it by hand.

Reading the list
- Know the statuses
Draft posts nothing. Posted is an open receivable, emailed or not. Partial has been part paid. Paid is settled. Void has been reversed. Overdue is a view of posted and partial invoices past their due date, not a status.
- Filter and search
Narrow by customer, status or date, or save a view. Filters live in the URL, so you can bookmark or share a view.
- Open one
An invoice shows when it was issued and posted, every payment applied, and its journal entry.
Partial payments
A part-paid invoice stays open for the rest. The open amount, not the invoice total, is what ties to accounts receivable on your balance sheet.
Void, don't delete
A posted invoice can't be deleted, since that would remove revenue from a period you may have reported. Voiding posts a reversing entry and keeps both visible.
An invoice dated in a locked period can't be voided or edited. Issue a credit memo dated today instead; it reverses the sale in the current period and leaves the closed one alone.
Good to know
- Invoices don't appear on Transactions, which shows money moving through your accounts. A payment appears there as its own row. The invoice's entry is on the Journal Entries tab.
- Unmatching a payment that came from the bank feed returns the invoice to unpaid and the deposit to Review.
