Account Detail

Open any account to see its running balance and every entry that posted to it.

Open an account to see its balance and every transaction posted to it. Use it when a balance looks wrong or someone asks what makes up a figure.

What the page shows

  1. Balance and activity

    Current balance is as of today. Net activity, Debits and Credits cover the date range you pick.

  2. Activity by month

    Spikes and gaps here are often the quickest way to find something posted to the wrong month or account.

  3. Every transaction

    The list shows each posted transaction with its number, date, description, category and amount. Open one to see the whole entry. View in Transactions and Full ledger open the same activity on those pages.

  4. Details

    The Details tab holds the account's code, name, sub-type, group and description, and is where you edit them.

Tracing a balance

Find the month that looks wrong in the chart, open its transactions, and the misposting is usually there.

Fixes post as new entries. The original stays in the journal, so you can see both what was recorded and what changed.

Good to know

  • Only posted entries count here. Rows still in Review don't affect the balance.
  • New journal entry on this page starts an entry for this account.
