AI Tools

Everything you can ask Lejr's AI to do, tool by tool: what each one does, what to say, and whether it changes your books.

These are the tools behind Lejr's conversational accounting. The Lejr Assistant uses them, and so does Claude, ChatGPT or Grok when you connect it to your books. You never call a tool by name: ask in your own words and the AI picks the right one.

Tools that only look things up run straight away. Tools that change your books show you what they will do and wait for your approval, unless you allow them in Settings → Assistant → Permissions. Irreversible ones, such as voiding or closing a year, always ask.

Common questions

Are these the same for the in-app assistant and a connected AI?
Yes. Both use the same tools with the same rules: entries must balance, and closed periods stay closed.
Can I turn some of them off?
Yes. Set a group to Block in Settings → Assistant → Permissions, and its tools are off for the assistant and any connected AI in that business.
What does a connected AI's access level change?
Read-only connections can use only the lookup tools. Standard connections can't use the irreversible ones.
