Connect an AI assistant

Lejr speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Point a compatible AI assistant at your books and it can record transactions, reconcile, and pull reports, with your permission, on your terms.

Connect Claude

Lejr is available as a Claude connector. In Claude (desktop, web or mobile), open Settings → Connectors and add https://lejr.app/mcp, or pick Lejr from the connector directory once it's listed there. Sign in to Lejr when Claude asks, choose the businesses, and you're connected. It's included in every plan.

The server URL

Add Lejr to any other assistant as a custom MCP connector using:

https://lejr.app/mcp

The first time you connect, your assistant walks you through a standard OAuth sign-in to Lejr. You approve access in your browser; the assistant never sees your password. Authorization is scoped to your account and the organizations you choose.

Supported clients

Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth works. That includes:

  • Claude (Desktop, web, mobile and Code): add Lejr as a connector with the URL above, as described under Connect Claude. This is the path we test most heavily.
  • ChatGPT: add Lejr as a custom connector under Settings → Connectors. Custom connectors need a ChatGPT Plus, Pro or Team plan.
  • Grok: add Lejr as a custom connector. Custom connectors need X Premium or SuperGrok.
  • Gemini: coming soon.
  • Other MCP-compatible assistants: anything that can connect to a remote MCP server over streamable HTTP and complete an OAuth flow. The transport is assistant-agnostic; the same URL and sign-in apply.

Connections you've made show up under Settings → Account → AI connections, where each one can be scoped or revoked. If your assistant speaks MCP, it can already connect today.

What the assistant can do

Once connected, the assistant acts as your accountant, with 151tools across invoicing, bills, banking, reconciliation, fixed assets, reports and year-end: creating customers and invoices, posting balanced journal entries, categorizing bank activity, recording payments, reconciling statements, and running reports (P&L, balance sheet, trial balance). Every write is double-entry and immutable. Mistakes are fixed with correcting entries, never silent edits, so your audit trail stays intact.

One connection can reach several of your businesses. The assistant confirms which business before it changes anything, and every tool response names the business it acted on. MCP access is included in every plan.

Permissions & safety

  • You authorize every connection. Access uses a scoped bearer token issued through OAuth, not your login.
  • Your role applies. The assistant can do what your role in the business allows and no more: a viewer can't change anything. Lejr enforces this on its own server, whatever the assistant does.
  • Approval happens in your assistant. Before a change, your AI client shows its own approval prompt. Anything you've set to Block in the Lejr Assistant's permissions is refused over MCP too.
  • Multi-organization guardrails. If your token can reach more than one organization, the assistant must confirm which one before touching data. It will not guess.
  • Revoke anytime. Manage and revoke connected assistants under Settings → Account → AI connections. Revocation is immediate.
  • Every action is logged. Tool calls are recorded per organization (Settings → Activity) so you can see exactly what ran and when.

Token management

Issued tokens, their scope, last-used time, and call counts live in Settings → Account → AI connections. You can bind a token to a single organization, allow it across several, or revoke it outright.
